About AMERICAN PROGRAM IN GIS AND REMOTE SENSING

Established in 2018, the American Program in GIS and Remote Sensing (APROGIS) is a pioneering scientific institution at the forefront of Geospatial Technology and Earth Observation. Our mission is to harness the power of satellite data and spatial analysis to drive sustainable development across the country and the region.

  • Forest Monitoring – detecting burned areas, tracking deforestation, and assessing vegetation health.

  • Land Use and Land Cover Change – mapping land cover transformations, monitoring urban expansion, agricultural dynamics, and ecosystem changes over time.

  • Disaster Risk Management – anticipating floods, measuring ground displacement, and mapping landslide-prone zones. Additionally, we deploy InSAR and DInSAR techniques for ground deformation monitoring in the oil and gas industry, enabling precise infrastructure stability assessment and early detection of subsidence phenomena.

To deliver actionable insights, we process data from multiple Earth observation satellites using robust, state-of-the-art algorithms. Beyond services, we are committed to advancing scientific knowledge through publications in high-impact journals, contributing to the global remote sensing community.

We also believe in democratizing access to remote sensing technology. That’s why we offer specialized training programs designed to empower professionals across the region—with a special focus on radar (SAR) applications—so that more people can use these powerful tools to solve real-world problems.

We look forward to your stay.
